Project Implementation
Year 1:We are going to introduce ourselves to the people of Mali and tell them about our project. We hoping to get volunteers and supporters such as political representatives. We are going to travel around Mali to find land that we can work on. We are mainly going to target regions where there is a big piece of land that can be worked on. We plan to work at the southern region because that is where most plant life are located.
Year 2: We plan to build water hoses around the land and prepare the land so that the Gliricidia Trees are ready to be planted.. Notify the people of Mali about the protected land so that all people of Mali learns about the protected land.
Year 3: On the third year, we plan to find a big piece of land to protect and plant trees. Also, we have to plant Gliricidia Trees to restore nutrients to the soil. With restoring the soil, this will help grow future trees and it will be less trouble to grow them. We are mainly looking for a big piece of land in the south part of Mali because the south is the only fertile land.
Year 4: Start planting trees. We plan to plant trees after the soil has been restored and after the fence and warning signs have been build. Then we tell people about charcoal and introduce the people. With Charcoal, it burns much hotter so it’s good for food. Plus, charcoal does not produce smoke.
Year 5:Our 5th year in mali we shall show the civilians all the progress we have made, Our reason on why we will show them is because mali civilians would see the major impact that we have caused, and we would hope that they themselves may pass it down to their future generation without so they still may be maintaining with us gone.
