Project Proposal
Our Plan: For the issue of deforestation in Ghana, our proposed solution is to find a substitute for wood as fuel and to find a building material substitute for wood. The way we are thinking of finding a fuel substitute is to use coal, biofuel ,or clean energy, such as tide turbines. Because the most affected region is on the Gulf of Guinea or solar power because they are near the equator and get a lot of sun year round. As for the building material substitute we propose that the people of Ghana use building materials such as concrete or bricks, which if we were to use this, the people of Ghana would be taught by trained builders and architects about how to make safer buildings, and to send surveyors and quarry operators to teach them how to operate stone quarries. We would also send coal miners to help the people of Ghana find and safely operate coal mines, and we would send trained professionals to help teach the people how to put together, and operate tide turbines or solar panels. In short our solution is to send trained professionals to teach the people of Ghana how to build, make, and operate coal mines, stone quarries, construction sites tide turbines, and solar panels.
